Dr. Andrea Tisza, rheumatologist, medical director

I graduated from the Zrinyi Ilona High School in Nyíregyháza in 1983, and then continued my studies at the University of Debrecen Medical School between 1983 and 1989. During my university years, immunology sparked my interest, which later led me to rheumatology.

I was very fortunate, as in 1989, I was able to start my medical career at a rheumatology department in Nyíregyháza that was nationally recognized for its expertise. Following this, I passed my specialist exams in rheumatology and physiotherapy in 1995.

Since 2004, as a member of the Arthritis Center established at the department, I have been treating patients with inflammatory symptoms using the most advanced tools available. I have co-authored several professional articles and a university textbook chapter. Since 2018, I have also been working as a spa doctor, and since 2023, I have been the medical director of the Aquarius Medical Spa, operated by Sóstó-Gyógyfürdők Zrt.

Throughout my career, I have worked at several outpatient clinics, where I witnessed firsthand how incredibly many people suffer from musculoskeletal complaints. Younger generations suffer from the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle and prolonged sitting, while older individuals come to us with shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, neck, back, or lower back pain caused by age-related cartilage degeneration. Many also seek examination and treatment for rehabilitation purposes after accidents. One of Hungary's greatest treasures is the healing water that springs from deep within the earth, whose therapeutic effects have been proven by countless patients over the years. With the help of healing water-based conservative therapies, our patients achieve significant improvements in their quality of life, and these treatments can also be used preventively. The treatments are preceded by a thorough medical examination, where we take the time to listen to and understand the complaints of our guests, and to tailor the most effective treatments for them, as diverse symptoms can be most successfully managed in a comprehensive manner.
