Custom dry therapy exercises

Custom dry therapy exercises

Mechanism of Action:

Therapeutic exercise is a specialized movement therapy aimed at restoring mobility through exercises determined by a physiotherapist, or, if this is not possible, adapting to the altered condition. Therapeutic exercise can be divided into active and passive procedures. The active components include guided active movement and movement directed by instruction. In guided active movement, muscle strengthening can be performed from unloaded work to resistance work (in stages: unloaded position, against gravity, against resistance).

Movement directed by instruction is performed independently by the patient. Its goal is muscle strengthening, relaxation, and movement coordination. In the passive components of therapeutic exercise, the patient relaxes the body part being moved, and the therapist directs the movement.

The goal of movement is to preserve joint mobility, prevent the development of contractures (limited joint movement in a specific direction and range), or resolve existing contractures, as well as to stimulate the initiation of active movements. Movement follows the normal range of motion of the joints. It is essential that movement always occurs only up to the pain threshold!

As a result of the therapeutic exercise regimen, improvements in muscle strength, movement coordination, balance, endurance, and standing ability, as well as enhanced circulation, can be achieved.

At our medical facility, there is an opportunity to participate in individual exercise sessions, which the specialist doctor may recommend to the patient if indicated.

In which cases is individual dry exercise recommended for the patient?

  • The patient's general condition, such as heart or circulatory disease, which does not yet contraindicate participation in balneotherapy but requires increased attention from the physiotherapist, and the exercises must be adapted to the patient's condition.
  • In patients with advanced degenerative changes in multiple joints, requiring a customized exercise program.

Duration of Therapeutic Exercise:

30 minutes.

Procedure:

The patient participates in the exercise session in comfortable, loose clothing, performing the exercise routine under the guidance of the physiotherapist.

Indications:

It is applicable in all musculoskeletal disorders, such as degenerative diseases of the spine and/or large joints, as well as in inflammatory rheumatic conditions (RA, SPA).

Contraindications:

Fever, acute infections, menstruation, thrombosis, pregnancy, heart failure, arrhythmia, advanced heart-kidney-liver disease, tuberculosis.
