Physical therapy
Physiotherapy is the oldest branch of healing, a Greek-origin word meaning healing with natural energies. Within this, physiotherapy refers to therapy using physical energies.
The tools of physiotherapy in our medicine:electrotherapy:
- low-frequency treatments: stable galvanic, iontophoresis, diadynamic current
- medium-frequency treatments: interference
- high-frequency treatments: magnetotherapy
mechanotherapy: ultrasound, sonophoresis, underwater ultrasound, shockwave therapyphototherapy: laser light treatmentthermotherapy: cold therapy (cryotherapy).
Physiotherapy is mostly symptomatic treatment. It treats pathological symptoms such as decreased local metabolism, reduced blood circulation, decreased nerve excitability, increased muscle tone-spastic state, stiffer connective tissue, increased fluid accumulation, local inflammation, narrowed joint movement, and pain.
The effects of physiotherapy:
Pain relief, increased blood supply, inflammation reduction, muscle strengthening, muscle relaxation.
Their effects are exerted through a course of treatment, which usually consists of at least 10 sessions.
Current conditions for receiving physiotherapy in our medicine:
- Independently, based on a doctor's recommendation (which can be provided by the spa doctor or any other musculoskeletal specialist) without NEAK support, at full price,
- based on a doctor's recommendation, integrated into certain medical packages as an extra service, or as part of
- complex spa medical care combined with spa treatments, with NEAK support (this is currently not available in medical packages).
General contraindications:
Fever, acute infections, menstruation, thrombosis, damaged or inflamed skin, pregnancy, heart and lung insufficiency, severe high blood pressure, severe arrhythmia, cancerous conditions, implanted metal or prosthesis in the treatment area, patients with pacemakers cannot receive high-frequency treatments.
