Underwater water jet massage - (tangentor - 07)

Mechanism of Action:

Underwater water jet massage therapy is a combination of mechanotherapy and hydrotherapy. Its beneficial physiological effects are primarily triggered by the massaging and pressing action of the water jet. The underwater jet massage presses the skin, and once the pressure subsides, reactive hyperemia develops. At the treated area, some literature suggests it can result in an 81.5% increase in blood flow. The improved local blood circulation also enhances metabolism. The mechanical effect also impacts the lymphatic system, eliminating lymph stagnation. Another important biological effect is the improvement of muscle tone. Through these effects, it serves as a pain-relieving procedure.

Treatment Procedure:

The treatment is performed in a medical tub with water at 34-37°C, using a water jet device operating at an appropriate distance and water pressure (0.5-2 atmospheres). The treatment starts from the lower limbs and extends to the upper limbs and along the spine, covering the entire body.
The treatment duration should follow the principle of gradual progression, reaching a maximum of 20 minutes.

Duration:

A total of 20 minutes.

Indications:

Degenerative spinal conditions such as herniated discs, spinal disc herniation, hip, knee, ankle, and shoulder degenerative disorders, soft tissue abnormalities, inflammatory joint diseases in the inactive stage as symptomatic therapy, post-surgical orthopedic treatment, rehabilitation after accident-related surgeries to relax spinal muscle tension and improve blood circulation. It is one of the most popular treatment methods for post-surgical care.
